Slay

About The Book

"We are different ages, genders and traditions... but tonight we all SLAY"

Described as The Hate U Give meets Ready Player One, Slay follows the journey of 17 year old Kiera, the creator of a Black Panther inspired video game, as she battles a real life troll. Her game provides a safe space for a worldwide community of black gamers, a place to celebrate black culture away from discrimination. However, when tragedy strikes based on an in-game dispute her creation is labelled violent, discriminatory and even racist. Can she survive at school, fight to save the virtual world she has created and stay true to who she is?

Themes: Identity, Racial Equality, Social Media, Safe Spaces
